My daughter, Leah Aisha, always asks me, "Dad, when are you going to take me to all of the countries that you have visited?" Up until now, she has has spent half of her life in Mexico and the other half in Colombia.

We had planned to travel for all of 2011 through the U.S. and Canada, but my wife was diagnosed with cancer in November 2010, and we had to change our plans.

Leah has inherited the artistic talents of her mother. She likes to dance, create handicraft, draw, and sing. She especially likes to learn folkloric dances, and she went to a music and dance school in Mexico City, called Ollin Yoliztli. However, we had to withdraw her from the school, because she couldn't wake up early every morning for the class.

My daughter does very well in most of her studies, but she is very hyperactive. She gets bored very quickly, and her mind is off to another activity. Before my wife passed away last year, we had discussed home schooling.

The topic then turned to road schooling, or, home schooling her while on the road. It's something we all agreed would be fun, and although we had to postpone our plans before, my daughter and I have decided that now is a good time to move forward.
